PSA Purification Plant
The PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) Purification Plant is an advanced biogas upgrading system that produces high-purity Bio-CNG by selectively removing residual impurities and CO₂ under varying pressure conditions. It’s typically used as a final-stage purification step to achieve the methane concentration required for compressed biogas applications.
How It Works
Biogas is fed into adsorption columns filled with specialized adsorbent material. Under high pressure, the adsorbent selectively captures CO₂ and other impurities while allowing methane to pass through. Once the adsorbent reaches capacity, pressure is reduced (swing phase) to release the trapped gases, regenerating the adsorbent for reuse. This cyclical pressure-swing process runs continuously across multiple columns to ensure uninterrupted gas output.
- Produces high-purity methane suitable for Bio-CNG standards
- Continuous operation through multi-column adsorption cycling
- Lower energy consumption compared to some alternative purification methods
