H2S Removal System
The H2S Removal System eliminates hydrogen sulfide, a corrosive and toxic gas naturally present in raw biogas, before it moves further into the purification line. Removing H2S protects downstream equipment from corrosion and ensures the biogas meets safety and quality standards for compression, storage, and end use.
How It Works
Raw biogas from the digester passes through the H2S removal unit, where hydrogen sulfide is captured and neutralized using biological, chemical, or media-based scrubbing methods depending on plant design. The treated gas exits with significantly reduced sulfur content, reducing odor, toxicity, and corrosiveness before it proceeds to water scrubbing and further purification stages.
Key Benefits
- Protects compressors, pipelines, and downstream equipment from corrosion
- Reduces health and safety risks associated with toxic H2S exposure
- Improves overall biogas quality before purification
