CSTR Digester
The CSTR (Continuously Stirred Tank Reactor) Digester is the core anaerobic digestion unit in a Bio-CNG plant, engineered for high-efficiency breakdown of organic and agricultural waste into biogas. Its continuous mixing mechanism ensures uniform substrate distribution, stable microbial activity, and consistent gas yield, making it suitable for large-scale, continuous-feed operations.
How It Works
Organic waste (agricultural residue, food waste, or similar feedstock) is fed into the reactor at a controlled rate. Inside, mechanical agitators continuously stir the slurry to maintain uniform temperature and prevent solids from settling or forming a crust. This constant mixing keeps anaerobic bacteria evenly distributed, accelerating the breakdown of organic matter and maximizing methane-rich biogas production. Digested output (digestate) is drawn off and can be processed into organic fertilizer.
- Consistent, uninterrupted biogas output due to continuous feed and mixing
- Higher digestion efficiency from uniform substrate-microbe contact
- Reduced risk of scum/sediment buildup that affects output in static digesters
