Water Scrubber
The Water Scrubber is a key biogas upgrading unit that removes carbon dioxide (CO₂) from raw biogas using water as the absorption medium. By stripping out CO₂, it raises the methane concentration of the gas, bringing it closer to the purity required for Bio-CNG.
How It Works
Biogas (after H2S removal) is passed through a scrubbing column where it comes into contact with pressurized water flowing in the opposite direction. CO₂, being more soluble in water than methane, dissolves into the water stream and is carried away, while the methane-enriched gas continues to the next purification stage. The water used can be regenerated and recirculated, improving process efficiency and reducing water consumption.
